The Boardwalk at Santa Cruz, seen beyond the Santa Cruz wharf, is the last remaining ocean-side fun-fair on the west coast. The old wooden roller coaster is still a major attraction. When the movie "The Lost Boys" was filmed here the Boardwalk gained instant worldwide notoriety. This view from the famed surfing location Steamer Lane, with the Santa Cruz mountains readying for an incoming Pacific storm, is familiar to generations of northern Californians.
