The circular cadera, what is left from the eruption that destroyed the pre-historic island, is often suggested as the site of the Lost City of Atlantis. Whether or not this has any basis in fact, it adds to the allure of Santorini. It is hard to imagine a more idyllic setting for a cliff top house than this. And if the view wears thin, the nightlife and beaches beckon from the other side of the island.
