The old wooden structure at Soquel Landing, now known as the Wharf at Capitola, sits under a growing Pacific storm from the northwest. This northern part of the Monterey Bay actually has a warmer, sunnier climate than further south in the Bay, being less affected by the deep underwater canyon at Elkhorn Slough.
