Pampas grass is a signature plant of the Pacific coastline. It spreads across the cliffs and beaches of  Northern California , and its 15-20 foot golden plumes are as much a part of the scenery as the Monterey pine, the Eucalyptus, and the Cedar. But it sends its seeds into the winds to to germinate and grow wherever they land, leading many horticulturalists to see it as an unwanted weed. This native of Argentina though is here to stay.
