The Aptos to Seacliff Pier pathway is a favorite evening walk for local residents in winter. From time to time they are treated to spectacular sunsets,  one of which is captured here. The intensity of the colors, largely determined by the cloud structure and internal composition, varies so much that no two days are the same. Some landscape photographers focus solely on documenting the broad range of stunning images created by sunsets.
