Up

Only seen locally in the winter and early spring, willets are gregarious waders in shallow salt water. They can be separated from the somewhat similar sandpipers by stockier bodies and by their presence in groups rather than pairs. This exposure picks up the sun trail on the ocean in the left half of the picture.
